About Joshua

Joshua RonquilloJoshua Ronquillo (learn more about Joshua) is a 6 year old with a rare genetic disease called adrenoleukodystrophy (a-dreen-o-loo-koh-DIS-tro-fee or ALD) that ultimately causes severe brain damage. It has reduced Joshua from a healthy, playful young man to someone who needs constant care and help with the most basic daily activities such as walking, speaking and bathing.

Why We Need to Help Joshua

ALD is a serious disease. The outcome is usually fatal, but there is hope for a miracle. Nonetheless, Joshua is fighting and we need to help him as much as possible. There are numerous medical expenses that are uncovered by the family's insurance plan.

A bone marrow transplant that could extend Joshua's life (albeit in the current state) is under consideration but the family must raise at least $7,000 to start that process.
